Error "System Under Pressure" on ACQUITY UPLC BSM - WKB81446

SYMPTOMS

• Instrument flow interrupted by "System Under Pressure" error shortly after setting method to equilibrate

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC
• MassLynx Inlet Editor
• Empower Instrument Method

CAUSE

Instrument equilibrates to a method with a low-pressure shutdown value and no column is in line to provide back pressure.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Affix a column to the system to provide the required back pressure, or remove the low-pressure shutdown value in the inlet editor.
2. Reset low pressure limits back to their default values: Low pressure limit of zero

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The instrument method loaded should additionally be checked to ensure that the low pressure limit is not set too low. Simply increasing the limit should fix the issue, as long as you can verify the system is passing all the leak tests.
