ACQUITY autosampler tray position error for vial position in Xcalibur with SII driver pack - WKB75442

SYMPTOMS

• A * is shown next to position in Xcalibur sample list with "Position is invalid for configured autosampler tray type" error message
• ANSI 48 Vial 2mL Holder is configured autosampler tray
• 1:A,1 plate referencing is used

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC
• Xcalibur 4.2
• Thermo SII 1.5 driver pack

CAUSE

Tray referencing has changed with the SII driver pack.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. For SII driver pack installations, use 1:A1 vial referencing, minus the comma(,).
2. Verify that the * is gone and injection proceeds as expected.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

For LC Devices driver pack installations, the traditional 1:A,1 plate referencing is still used.
