SYMPTOMS

• High back pressure with a new column
• Pressure higher than 10K

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC I-Class

CAUSE

Unknown

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Loosen the finger-tight fittings on the inject valve at ports 2 and 3.
2. Reset the SM-FTN from the console.
3. Prime the wash and purge solvents.
4. Wash the needle.
5. Retighten the fittings.
6. Repeat the prime.
7. Start flow slowly, increasing to the initial conditions, and allow pressure to stabilize.
8. Characterize the needle seal.
