ACQUITY UPLC Column Manager overpressures - WKB74490

SYMPTOMS

• When using a specific column position, the system overpressures (can also be seen on all column positions)
• All other column positions are fine
• Reseating the column does not help
• Bypass position is ok.

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC Column Manager

CAUSE

Clog in the tubing that goes to the inlet of the column 

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Replace the right-side inlet tubing of the column manager (Right-side column inlet tubing is part 700003816)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Please note the column inlet fittings do not come with the Preheater tube kit (see image below). The fittings to connect to the valve do come in the kit.

Please order the appropriate number of fittings as well.

Blockage in the switching valve cartridge has also been shown to cause system overpressure issues. Resolve this by replacing the switching valve cartridge (700008871).
