ACQUITY APC shows poor peak height reproducibility - WKB73880

SYMPTOMS

• Variable peak heights
• Sample syringe leak test failure

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY APC
• ACQUITY APC Sample Manager - FTN
• ACQUITY UPLC Sample Manager - Flow Through Needle PLUS (SM-FTN PLUS)

CAUSE

The purge solvent ran dry, and insufficient prime cycles were performed; air is still present in tubing.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Prime the syringe using 30 cycles.
2. Perform the sample syringe leak test.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

30-50 syringe cycles are recommended if purge solvent runs dry.
