  • Negative drops in baseline
  • During run, random pressure fluctuations that do not correspond to negative drops
  • Recent system PM
  • Degasser chambers and pump recently replaced

ENVIRONMENT

  • Alliance HPLC System
  • 2695 Separations Module
  • 2410 Differential Refractometer
  • 2414 Refractive Index Detector

CAUSE

Partial clog in tubing from dirty solvents

FIX or WORKAROUND

  1. Replace tubing from column to detector and any tubing joining columns together. 
  2. Inspect solvent bottles and make sure that there are no visible particulates in the bottles.
  3. If there are particulates, replace or thoroughly clean the bottles. 
  4. Replace solvent filters.
