ACQUITY UPLC I-Class fails dynamic leak test with end point set to column - WKB68419

SYMPTOMS

• Post-PM testing
• Passes dynamic leak test to vent valve
• Above acceptable limit in dynamic leak test with end point set to column

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC I-Class
• ACQUITY UPLC BSM
• ACQUITY Premier BSM

CAUSE

The fitting between the vent valve and the filter leaks.       

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Replace the tubing between the vent valve and the filter or between the vent valve and t-piece on the Premier
2. Rerun the dynamic leak test.

Valve port 5 to tee - solvent line B: part number 430001207

Valve port 2 to tee - solvent line A: part number 430001208

You can replace the mixer with a union to determine which line is failing.
