A loud squeaking or grinding sound is heard from Alliance 2695 sample compartment when selecting a tray - WKB66835

SYMPTOMS

• Loud noise from the Alliance 2695 when selecting a sample tray

ENVIRONMENT

• Alliance HPLC System
• 2695 Separations Module

CAUSE

Sample trays are scraping along the skid plate as the carousel rotates.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Remove all the sample trays and rotate the carousel to confirm that the noise has stopped.
2. Feel along the bottom rim of the sample trays to confirm that the edge is very rough.
3. After confirmation in steps 1 and 2, replace the sample trays with new ones (WAT270328 - Carousel Set 5pk kit).
