THERMO CAD detector with ACQUITY UPLC H-Class freezes after first injection - WKB6659

SYMPTOMS

• The first injection of a sequence is always successful
• Run Samples freezes when a second injection of the same sequence is made
• An error of Z-axis fault occurs after ACQUITY UPLC H-Class times out

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC H-Class
• THERMO CAD detector
• Empower 2
• THERMO CAD drivers for Empower 2

CAUSE

Unknown

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. The THERMO CAD detector has one contact closure cable going to QSM stop flow and one contact closure cable going to the FTN inject start.
2. Disconnect the cable going to QSM but leave the FTN inject start cable.
3. System is now able to run the entire sequence.
