Pressure variation and reproducibility issues on H-Class SM-FTN - WKB63186

SYMPTOMS

• Pressure fluctuation and standard reproducibility issues on H-Class
• System adequately primed
• Needle seal readiness test failure

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC Sample Manager - Flow Through Needle PLUS (SM-FTN PLUS)

CAUSE

The needle is damaged.

Needle drape when in retracted position; the shape indicates that needle has been pulled forward

New needle

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Replace the needle using Sample Needle Kit, 15 µL, standard (700005215).
2. Run the needle seal readiness test.   

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

It is important to position and remove trays carefully because the impacts can be severe.
