When the temperature is set to 4 °C on my ACQUITY H-Class FTN Sample Manager, the display only gets down to 6.2 °C - WKB56884

SYMPTOMS

• The display only gets down to 6.2 °C
• The display never reaches the 4 °C set point

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC H-Class
• ACQUITY UPLC H-Class PLUS
• ACQUITY UPLC Sample Manager - Flow Through Needle 
• ACQUITY UPLC Sample Manager - Flow Through Needle PLUS (SM-FTN PLUS)

CAUSE

The sample compartment has a settable range from 4.0 to 40.0 °C with a tolerance range between -2 and +4 °C.

When you set it to 4 °C, it could get to between 2 and 8 degrees and still be within the specifications. (This variation assumes an ambient temperature of less than 23 °C.)

FIX or WORKAROUND

There is no fix. The instrument is working properly and within the specifications.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The temperature accuracy is +/- 0.5 °C. When your temperature stabilizes, it will measure +/- 0.5 °C from the temperature displayed on the instrument (not the set temperature).
