SYMPTOMS

• 515 pump flow cannot be controlled by software

ENVIRONMENT

• 515 pump
• 717 injector
• 2487 detector
• PCM pump controller

CAUSE

Incorrect boot sequence results in 515 pump communication failure.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Before starting up the system, inspect the pump controller IEEE488 communication cable to see if the cable between the 515 pump and the PCM pump controller is connected properly, with good contact.
2. Power-on the 515 pump.
3. Modify the 515 pump setting by switching the "Local" mode (for local control) to "Remote" mode (for remote control). RUN and REM in the upper-right corner of the 515 pump screen will flash alternately after the setting has been modified successfully.
4. Power-on the PCM pump controller and other modules.
