Needle seal readiness test fails on ACQUITY H-Class/I-Class - WKB5500

SYMPTOMS

• Needle seal readiness test fails
• Low system pressure
• Pressure fluctuation after injection
• Inaccurate flow rate, lower volume delivered than expected

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC H-Class
• ACQUITY UPLC I-Class
• SM-FTN

CAUSE

System pressure did not stabilize before test or was too low.

A leak is present on the system causing a high pressure difference value.

Insufficient priming.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Set flow should be similar to initial testing (0.6ml/min) with similar pressure (~6000 - 8000psi) and  allow pressure to stabilize before running this test.

If the test continues to fail replace injector parts (Seal, needle and seat port) and re-run the test.
