RSD of peak area and height poor and overall response falling - WKB53785

SYMPTOMS

• %RSD of peak area high.
• %RSD of peak height high.
• Response falling over time.
• Sample syringe leak test fails.

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC Sample Manager - Flow Through Needle PLUS (SM-FTN PLUS)
• ACQUITY UPLC H-Class

CAUSE

Extension loop configured in system volume settings, but no extension loop attached to system.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Open instrument console.
2. Navigate to Sample Manager FTN in the system tree.
3. Select Configure from the drop-down menus along the top of the window.
4. Select Volumes... from the drop-down menu.
5. In the new window, set the extension loop volume to 0.
6. Click OK to close the window and accept changes.
7. Run sample syringe leak test again to ensure that it passes.
