The 2424 detector is not communicating - WKB471

SYMPTOMS

• 2424 is not communicating in Empower
• 2424 is not showing up under the Instruments tab in the Empower Node Properties
• 2424 is showing up in DHCP server window

ENVIRONMENT

• 2424 ELSD detector
• Empower 3

CAUSE

2424 ICS software was not installed

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Install 2424 ICS software version 1.4.
2. Restart PC and 2424 detector.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• ICS 1.4 for the ELSD detector is on the Waters website — 2420/2424 ELSD Instrument Control Software (ICS) Version 1.40
• 2420 and 2424 control using Ethernet requires Empower 2 FR5 or later
