Install a RFID column on the Alliance iS HPLC System.

Fittings and column clips are designed to be intuitive when installing a column in the Alliance iS Column Heater/Cooler (CHC).

  1. Power-on the system before installing the column, to ensure proper RF column identification when the CHC door is closed.
  2. From the touch screen, tap MAINTAIN > Replace Components > Replace Column and follow the on-screen prompts.
  3. Open the column compartment door.
  4. Move the lower column clip as necessary to match the size of the column.
  5. Remove the plugs from the inlet and outlet ends of the column.
  6. Orient the column so that the outlet faces up (see the arrow on the column) and the inlet faces down.
  7. Screw the fittings on the column compartment tubing finger-tight to the column inlet and outlet
  8. Insert the column into the upper and lower clips so that the clip grasps the exposed threads on the fitting.
  9. Close the column compartment door.

Note: If an eConnect column is installed, the system reads the eConnect column tag information and displays it on the touch screen.
• If you suspect that the column information displayed is incorrect, inspect the column installation and ensure that the column includes an eConnect tag.
• To re-read the eConnect tag, open and close the column compartment door, or, with the column compartment door closed, tap READ TAG.
Follow the remainder of the on-screen prompts and tap DONE.
