Method editor crashes when switching from direct inject to trapping mode in Analyst and Xcalibur with an ACQUITY M-Class - WKB32323

SYMPTOMS

• Direct inject works properly
• When switching from direct inject to trapping mode, the method editor crashes with no error message
• Or unable to run a trapping method 

ENVIRONMENT

• Analyst
• ACQUITY M-Class
• nanoACQUITY UPLC
• Xcalibur
• M-Class/nanoACQUITY Driver Pack 1.55

CAUSE

Incorrect folder permissions

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Browse to the Methods folder (/program files (x86)/waters instruments/methods for Analyst) or where customer stores methods in Xcalibur
2. Right-click on the Methods folder and select Properties
3. On the Security tab, set read/write access for all users
4. Click OK to save the changes and close out of Properties
5. Reopen method editor and confirm trapping can be configured properly
