How to replace the primary check valve on an ACQUITY Arc Quaternary Solvent Manager - WKB319915
OBJECTIVE or GOAL
Replace the primary check valve on an ACQUITY Arc Quaternary Solvent Manager.
ENVIRONMENT

PROCEDURE
NOTE: The check valve (CV) has a plastic washer that must be inserted (flat side down) onto the top of the CV prior to installation.

- Flush the solvent manager with nonhazardous solvent.
- Power-off the solvent manager.
- Open the solvent manager’s door.
- Loosen the cap nut on the ferrule holder fitting, but do not remove the nut from the fitting.
5. Unscrew and remove the ferrule holder fitting and cap nut from the primary check valve.
Notice: When you remove the valve assembly, ensure that the PEEK washer, which is normally on the top face of the check valve, does not remain in the
pump head.
6. Use a 1/2-inch open-end wrench to loosen the check valve, and then remove the check valve assembly from the pump head.
7. Unpack the new check valve and ensure that the new PEEK washer is inserted into the new check valve so that its chamfered edge faces away from the check valve.
8. Insert the check-valve assembly into the pump head, and use the 1/2-inch wrench to tighten the check-valve nut 1/8-turn beyond finger-tight.
9. Insert the ferrule-holder fitting into the primary check valve, ensuring that the tubing loops behind the check valve, and then tighten the ferrule-holder fitting finger-tight.
10. Finger-tighten the cap nut to the extent possible.
11. Power-on the solvent manager.
12. Prime the solvent manager.
