Is there a difference in area between a 2475 Fluorescence detector running in RS-232 (474) versus running in Ethernet mode? - WKB31404
Article number: 31404
ENVIRONMENT
- 2475 Multi-Wavelength Fluorescence Detector
- Ethernet
- RS232 (474 Emulation mode)
ANSWER
If a 2475 detector has been used in 474 mode utilizing RS-232 for communication and is then switched to Ethernet control, there will be an approximate 10X change in area for the same chromatography.
This is due to the difference in output characteristics between the 474 and 2475 with regard to gain.
When a 2475 is run in 474 mode, it is treated as a 474 and behaves differently than a 2475 not in 474 emulation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- If you look at the 2475 instrument method with Ethernet control, you will notice data mode = emission. This detector is running a normalized output and will not respond the same to gain settings.
