Injection reproducibility issue with Alliance and Empower - WKB30289

SYMPTOMS

• Peaks are much smaller than usual (low height and area)
• Column is not an issue
• Temperature normal

ENVIRONMENT

• Alliance HPLC System
• 2695 Separations Module
• 2695D Dissolution Separations Module
• 2489 UV detector
• Empower 3
• Aqueous buffer mobile phase 

CAUSE

Possibly dirty flowcell, or injector has bubbles.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Purge the injector for 20 cycles.
2. Run the needle wash/seal wash prime for 10 minutes (Home > Diag). 
3. Flush the system with 100% HPLC-grade water to remove any salt buildup.
4. Wet prime with mobile phase.
5. Repeat run.
