OBJECTIVE or GOAL
Set the IP address on the LAN card (G1369C) installed in an Agilent GC 6890+, so it communicates with Empower through Ethernet using Agilent ICF 3.0.
ENVIRONMENT
- Windows 10
- Agilent ICF Support v3.0
- Empower 3 Enterprise
- Agilent GC 6890+ (Plus) (G1530A)
- Agilent LAN card G1369C - Jet direct card
PROCEDURE
- Refer to the Agilent G1369C LAN Interface Card User Manual.
- Power-off the 6890+.
- Find the initialization mode switches located on the LAN card.
- Set the dipswitches to DHCP Initialization Mode by setting Switch 4 to ON and the rest of the switches to OFF (8 switches total).
- Set the instrument LAN in the connected PC to 192.168.0.1 or, alternatively, to 172.16.0.1.
- Reboot the PC.
- Power-on the 6890+.
- Open the DHCP tab in Empower Node Properties.
- The IP address for the GC should appear in the DHCP window.
- Open the Command Prompt and type the Ping command to the IP address in the DHCP window.
- Verify the MAC address by typing in the "arp -a" command in the Command Prompt.
- Run the Agilent Pre-Configuration Utility as noted in the Agilent ICF Support v3.0 Release Notes.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Agilent 6890+ does not typically have a LAN card installed. This must be done in order to use Agilent ICF Support v3.0 to control the 6890+.
