Wash/sample syringe move h/w fault error on ACQUITY sample managers - WKB29130

SYMPTOMS

• When purging either the sample or wash syringes, the system errors with a move h/w fault
• Fault can also occur post-injection, when the needle is being washed

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC Sample Manager 

CAUSE

The clear tubing on the volume detection device, which is connected to port 2 of the sample manager pod, has black contamination in the tubing, causing a partial blockage, which in turn causes the error.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Replace the volume detection device.
