ACQUITY UPLC SM-FTN sample loop leak/void causes poor peak shape - WKB284909

SYMPTOMS

• Poor peak shape
• System leak tests and sample manager diagnostics pass
• Injection valve was recently replaced
• Volumes in the console are correct
• Pressure increases slightly with no sample loop installed

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC SM-FTN
• I-Class
• H-Class

CAUSE

Sample loop has a small leak or void volume.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Remove and reseat the sample loop in the injection valve.
2. If poor peak shape persists after reseating, replace the sample loop.
