ACQUITY UPLC BSM is dimmed (unavailable) in Empower Run Samples and Console - WKB259075

SYMPTOMS

• BSM is dimmed (unavailable) in Run Samples
• BSM appears in Console, but the only function available is "Reset BSM" under "Control"
• "Reset BSM" has no effect
• Console Log shows multiple "Communication Failure" for the BSM
• Node Properties shows "Yes" in the "OK" column for the BSM

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC BSM
• ACQUITY UPLC I-Class BSM

CAUSE

The BSM ICS has become corrupted.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Uninstall the BSM ICS software.
2. Reboot the PC or LAC/E.
3. Reinstall the BSM ICS software.
4. Reboot the PC or LAC/E.
