SYMPTOMS
- High delta psi
- Lower pressure than usual for specific method
- When priming, air bubbles clearly visible in the waste line
ENVIRONMENT
- Alliance HPLC System
- 2695 Separations Module
- 2695D Dissolution Separations Module
- 2795 Separations Module
CAUSE
- Build up of buffer on seals and plunger
- Use of incorrect seals and running the system dry caused the seal to shred slightly.
FIX or WORKAROUND
Replace the seals or components of the head worn until delta psi is within 2.5% of system pressure.
Note, generate a back-pressure of at least 1700psi using methanol at 1ml/min and allow to stabilise before observing delta psi.
