Leak sensor does not detect leak from a column fitting on ACQUITY UPLC H-Class Sample Manager FTN system - WKB236991

SYMPTOMS

• Visual leak observed from the fitting at the head of the column
• Leak sensor well in the drip tray of the ACQUITY UPLC H-Class Sample Manager FTN does not trigger a Leak Detected error
• Booting the Sample Manager FTN does not resolve the issue
• ACQUITY UPLC H-Class Quaternary Solvent Manager leak sensor also found to not trigger a Leak Detected error

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC H-Class Sample Manager FTN
• ACQUITY UPLC H-Class Quaternary Solvent Manager
• MassLynx
• ACQUITY MS Console

CAUSE

Leak sensors are disabled in the ACQUITY MS Console.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Open the ACQUITY MS Console.
2. Highlight the system in the system list on the left-hand side.
3. Under the menus, go to Control > Leak Sensor.
4. Enable the leak sensors.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

If you cannot enable all of the leak sensors, close the console and MassLynx. Reboot the workstation and power-cycle the ACQUITY UPLC components. Repeat the steps above.
