Shifting retention time and poor repeatability with ACQUITY - WKB232745

SYMPTOMS

• Retention times are not stable
• Repeat injections are not reproducible

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC

CAUSE

Retention time issue is due to a leaking binary solvent pump.

Poor peak reproducibility is due to a leaking injector pod on the sample manager.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Replace the seals or check valves as required to get the pump leak-tight up to the vent valve.
2. Run a dynamic leak test up to the column and replace any leaking tubing or valves as required to pass the leak test.
