Pressure drops on ACQUITY UPLC with i2V valves - WKB221275

SYMPTOMS

• Pressure drops 
• Pump leak test passes
• Replacement of solvent filter does not solve problem
• Replacement of primary and accumulator check valves does not solve problem

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC
• ACQUITY UPLC BSM
• ACQUITY UPLC I-Class
• ACQUITY UPLC I-Class PLUS

CAUSE

Clogged filter frit in the Filter Cartridge Assembly

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Remove the filter cartridge assembly from i2V valve.

 2. Sonicate the filter frit in appropriate solvent (for example, water, methanol, isopropanol).

3. If it is impossible to clean the filter frit, replace it.
