High pressure on Alliance during wet prime - WKB194850

SYMPTOMS

• System pressure is greater than 600 psi during wet prime; the prime flow rate is 7.5 mL/min
• Salt, forming from precipitation, is seen around the inlet and outlet of the Inline Filter Assembly

ENVIRONMENT

• Alliance HPLC System
• 2695 Separations Module

CAUSE

The Filter Insert is clogged by salt from precipitation, resulting in a higher system pressure during system flow or wet prime

FIX or WORKAROUND

Clean, or replace with either the Inline Filter Assembly or the Filter Insert.
