ACQUITY SM x-axis and z-axis errors - WKB193536

SYMPTOMS

• X-axis home h/w fault
• Z-axis move h/w fault

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC Sample Manager

CAUSE

Y carriage collided with vial holder.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Remove the needle and inspect for damage. Replace if damaged or refit if OK (default PEEK 30-µL sample needle = 700002644). 
2. Calibrate XY and Zp axes.
3. Calibrate Zp offset.
4. Characterize needle seal.
5. It is good practice to re-characterize the needle and loop volumes.
