SYMPTOMS

  • Error "Charge Amp resident memory device not connected" or similar

ENVIRONMENT

  • ACQUITY UPLC PDA Detector
  • ACQUITY UPLC Tunable UV Detector
  • ACQUITY UPLC PDA eλ Detector

CAUSE

Flow cell ID is corrupted, affecting the memory of the Charge Amp PCB.

FIX or WORKAROUND

  1. Replace the flow cell.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This only affects the newer style (2010 or later) ACQUITY detectors that have the smart chip lamps and flow cells. The flow cell, lamp, and charge amp IDs are all shared. The corrupted flow cell ID is affecting the resident memory of the charge amp PCB.
