Will peak purity processing fail if the Photodiode Array Detector (PDA) is saturated? - WKB15682

Article number: 15682

ENVIRONMENT

  • ACQUITY UPLC PDA Detector
  • 2998 Photodiode Array Detector
  • Empower

ANSWER

Yes

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

See the Empower PDA Software Getting Started Guide, page 48.

"When obtaining purity results, it is important that your sample does not exceed 1.0 AU in any region of the 3D data"

This criterion is necessary when calculating purity results in order for these results to be valid. If the absorbance is less than 1.0 AU, proceed with the next step. If the absorbance of any peak is greater than 1.0 AU, dilute the sample appropriately and acquire it again.
