Cyclic baseline noise observed only during gradient runs using Breeze 2 with a 1525 pump and a 2489 detector - WKB13074

SYMPTOMS

• Pressure is stable when running isocratic
• Baseline is good initially and through the first eight minutes of the gradient
• Flow rate is accurate from both A and B pumps

ENVIRONMENT

• Breeze 2
• 1525 Binary HPLC pump
• 2489 UV/Visible Detector
• 2707 Autosampler

CAUSE

Mixer is dirty

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Remove and sonicate the gradient mixer in methanol for 15 minutes.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

If cleaning the mixer does not resolve the issue, you may need to replace the gradient mixer (WAT055847).
