1525 Micro Binary HPLC Pump "Fatal Error : (1500)" - WKB120869

SYMPTOMS

• Error "Fatal error (1500)" when starting a HPLC run

ENVIRONMENT

• 1525 Micro Binary HPLC Pump
• 1500 Series Column Heater
• MassLynx

CAUSE

Communications error between HPLC pump and column heater.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Shut down MassLynx inlet editor.
2. Turn off 1525 HPLC pump and 1500 column heater (they have separate switches.)
3. Turn on the HPLC pump
4. Turn on the column heater
5. Restart MassLynx inlet editor

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Pump and column heater have separate power switches. When the units are restarted both unit have to be turned off other wise the IEEE communications may not reset correctly.
