"Fatal Error : (1500)" with 1525 Micro Binary HPLC Pump - WKB120869

SYMPTOMS

• "Fatal Error (1500)" when starting a HPLC run

ENVIRONMENT

• 1525 Micro Binary HPLC Pump
• 1500 Series Column Heater
• MassLynx

CAUSE

Communications error between the HPLC pump and the column heater

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Shut down the MassLynx inlet editor.
2. Turn off the 1525 HPLC pump and the 1500 column heater (they have separate switches).
3. Turn on the HPLC pump.
4. Turn on the column heater.
5. Restart MassLynx inlet editor.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The pump and the column heater have separate power switches. When the units are restarted, both must be turned off, or the IEEE communications may not reset correctly.
