SYMPTOMS

• Ghost peaks occur after sample injection
• Ghost peaks occur even after sufficient needle wash

ENVIRONMENT

• Alliance HPLC System
• 2695 Separations Module

CAUSE

Sample stuck to the needle and difficult to remove

Sample carryover

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Fill the vial with a solvent that dissolves the sample well and inject it. (50ul x 10 times)
2. If the peak becomes smaller by repeated injections, repeat step 1.
