ACQUITY Arc: Area value is smaller than before when returning from a long idle time - WKB100534

SYMPTOMS

• The area values decrease to about 1/4 compared to before when returning from a long idle time
• Visual check of bubbles in the sample syringe

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY Arc
• ACQUITY Arc Sample Manager FTN-R

CAUSE

Insufficient purging of the sample manager’s sample syringe. The specified amount cannot be injected due to the air bubbles.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Purge the sample syringe until air bubbles are removed
2. If the bubbles persists, first purge with methanol until the bubbles are removed
3. Purge with sufficient solvent used for measurement
