UNIFI Analysis not displayed in Peptide MAM - WKB306396

Article number: 306396

SYMPTOMS

  • When creating an analysis in Peptide MAM, when browsing for data files to add to the analysis, the Peptide MAM file browser does not show some UNIFI analyses that are present in the waters_connect Explorer app

ENVIRONMENT

  • waters_connect
  • Peptide MAM (all versions up to and including 1.8.1)

CAUSE

If a Sample Set and a UNIFI Analysis with exactly the same name are located in the same folder in the explorer app, the Peptide MAM app will only show the sample set when browsing for data to add to the Peptide MAM analysis

FIX or WORKAROUND

  1. When creating UNIFI analyses for use in Peptide MAM (for example creating an UNIFI analysis to apply lock mass correction to imported MassLynx data) do not give the UNIFI analysis the same name as the sample set used to create that analysis if you are intend to save the UNIFI analysis to the same folder as the sample set.
  2. If you have an existing UNIFI analysis with the same name as an existing sample set, move the analysis to a different folder in the Explorer app. before adding the UNIFI analysis to a Peptide MAM analysis.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

1 - By default when you create an analysis in UNIFI it will suggest a name for that analysis based on the analysis method rather than the samples set. If you use that default name this issue will not occur.

2 - The inability of Peptide MAM to display both a sample set and an analysis with identical names in the same folder has been recorded as CRI-7614
