"Unexpected error" if user's access to data folder is changed/revoked after creating analysis - WKB285082

Article number: 285082

SYMPTOMS

  • Waters FSS was on site to perform re-qualification of waters_connect. A new w_c admin used the Qual protocol document to set up access to the data folders and system. We believe that the WatersFSS account was previously granted Company-level access to all data folders. The admin gave them access to a new Qual folder for the qual data. Now, when the FSS opens UNIFI to create a new analysis and then tries to browse for a method, they receive an "Unexpected error" and the dialog box and the Create analysis windows terminate. The reason is because the previous analysis and methods were created and saved in child folder1, which the Waters FSS no longer has access to.

ENVIRONMENT

  • waters_connect 3.1

CAUSE

CRI-7153 has been created for this issue.

The defect: If a user creates an analysis and method and saves to a folder but this access is revoked, they cannot browse to another folder. It seems to try to open the previous (cached) folder that they no longer have access to.

FIX or WORKAROUND

In this instance, they were granted access to the child folder1, and then they created the analysis and method, which were saved to the Qual folder.
