OBJECTIVE or GOAL

To create a new method and configuration in ASTRA 7 using Experiment Builder mode, allowing customization of system parameters, instruments, and connections.

ENVIRONMENT

Software: ASTRA 7
Applicable to systems with auxiliary channels (e.g., UV modules with two outputs)

PROCEDURE

1. Enable Experiment Builder mode via System > Preferences > Experiment Builder Mode or by right-clicking on Configuration in the Experiment pane and selecting Edit Configuration.
2. Add instruments by clicking Browse under Instruments > Add, then select the appropriate instrument profile.
3. Add fluid connections by clicking Browse under Connections > Add, selecting Fluid Connection, and defining source and destination devices.
4. Add auxiliary channel connections similarly by selecting Aux Channel Connection and defining source and destination devices.
5. After setup, disable Experiment Builder mode and save the experiment using Save as Method to retain the configuration for future use.
