Can technicians create or edit a sequence in ASTRA Security Pack? - WKB319052
ENVIRONMENT
- ASTRA
- ASTRA Security Pack
ANSWER
Technicians using the ASTRA Security Pack cannot create sequences from scratch, but they can use templates created by users with Researcher or higher privileges. They are allowed to edit specific sample row parameters such as vial location, enable status, name, number of injections, and method. However, they cannot modify core sequence parameters like flow rate, duration, or injection volume. After an experiment is run, technicians can process data and adjust peak-related terms, but they cannot alter the configuration or report. All changes made by any user are logged for audit purposes.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
ASTRA Security Pack users with the Technician privilege are not allowed to create sequences from a blank sequence. However, they can create a sequence from a sequence template that was set up by someone with Researcher or higher privileges.
Technicians can edit a sequence created from a template and change the following for any sample row:
- Vial (location of vial to inject from)
- Enable (whether the sample is run)
- Name
- Inj (number of injections)
- Method
Technicians cannot change these parameters in a sequence:
- Description
- flow rate
- Duration
- Injection volume
- Delay
- dndc
- A2
- UV extinction coefficient
- Conc
Any of the parameters specified in the sequence table row will overwrite values in the method for that row.
After an experiment is run, the technician cannot modify the items in the Configuration or the Report. However, they can process the experiment and modify the terms under the peaks procedure, including dndc, UV extinction coefficient, Injected mass, Conc, and A2. They can also change the baselines and peaks. These changes are tracked in the experiment log file.
Technicians cannot change the instrument configuration, but they can edit it. They can connect to instruments previously defined in experiments and sequences.
ASTRA Researchers can change all items in the sequence. Any changes to the sequence by any user are tracked in the sequence log file as part of ASTRA Security Pack's audit trail.
