How to bring a Scientific Library into UNIFI - WKB21465

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Install or import a new Waters scientific library into UNIFI.

Start with license activation:

In Administration, go to Licensing and select Register Software, even if the software has already been registered.
First specify a name for the registration file and a location to store it by clicking the .... button. Then select Next.
Register the software with Waters by clicking the registration link:
This brings you to the login page for the Waters website. Log in.
Select the product category, and then select Next:
Only need to specify the Scientific Library serial number. Select Next:
Select the Browse button to browse to the registration file that was initially named and saved.
Save the activation key by selecting Save License Activation, and then save the long file name.lic file to the PC:
In UNIFI, select Activate Licenses from the Tasks on the left and the .... button to browse to the activation .lic file that was just saved from the website.
When complete, all activated licenses should be listed.

Next, import the library:

Go to the administration page in UNIFI.
Under scientific libraries, select manage libraries.
On the libraries page, select import library items on the left.
To the right of the file to import box, select the ... button and browse to the library (for example, glycan.ulc) from the Scentific Library DVD (667005436).
Select import in the bottom-right corner of the page.

Note that the library file is separate from the license and serial numbers.
