With Vion IMS QTof, what is the difference between Standard and Soft transmission mode? - WKB116572
Article number: 116572
ENVIRONMENT
- Vion IMS QTof
- 3.1 Driver
ANSWER
In the different transmission modes, the following parameters change:
Standard transmission: Cell 1 CE2(v): 8 Trap/IMS Trap Pulse Height ‘A’ (V) in mobility mode: 20
Soft transmission: Cell 1 CE2(v): 5 Trap/IMS Trap Pulse Height ‘A’ (V) in mobility mode: 10
Soft transmission is used to avoid in-source fragmentation and improve the transmission of small molecules.
Standard transmission for Large molecules.
Soft transmission for Small molecules.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
In the 3.1 driver, the instrument setup is running the CCS calibration in both modes.
