Waters recommends the following:

• Add exceptions to the antivirus software to exclude folders and related file extensions used by Waters applications during real-time virus scans. Drives to exclude are the <Middleware Home> Drive and the Database Drive. 
• Full AV scanning should be scheduled outside of normal use and ETL times.
• Network Threat protection and Heuristic AV software may cause issues and should therefore be avoided on EDS365 servers.
• Disable automatic updates, and only load and install when not performing ETL.

Symantec Endpoint Protection is the Waters Corporate software used during evaluation. Customers are responsible for evaluating compatibility and, if needed, alternative solutions if their AV software conflicts with Waters applications. This does not indicate that any comprehensive testing is done with this antivirus software specifically. It indicates that EDS365 tested on Windows machines running a specific version of Symantec antivirus software has not shown any issues.
