Cannot perform the Chemspider search with ProgenesisQI - WKB208169

SYMPTOMS
- In Progenesis QI, Chemspider search does no work
- Error message from Progenesis QI: "Database error. The connection to ChemSpider servers could not be established or maintained. Please check your internet connection"
ENVIRONMENT
- Progenesis QI v2.3 or earlier
CAUSE
In early 2021, the Royal Society of Chemistry turned off the Chemspider2 servers and created new servers in their place. Early versions of Progenesis QI can use only the Chemspider2 server, not the new ones.
FIX or WORKAROUND
- Progenesis QI customers with a current coverwise plan: Update Progenesis QI to the latest version.
- Progenesis QI customers who don't have a coverwise support plan in place: Update to Progenesis QI v 2.4 or purchase a coverwise plan to allow upgrade to the latest version of Progenesis QI.
