OBJECTIVE or GOAL
Configure secure LDAP authentication in NuGenesis 8 systems.
ENVIRONMENT
- NuGenesis 8 (SDMS/ELN/LMS) configured for non-secure LDAP authentication
PROCEDURE
- Obtain certificates for the LDAP server and for the certificate's issuing Certificate authority (CA) servers. Each certificate must be a .CRT file.
- On SDMS servers:
- Copy the .CRT files to the NuGenesis 8.0 installation folder:
- Drive:\Program Files (x86)\NuGenesis 8.0\Common Files
- Restart the SDMS server in put the certificates into effect.
- Copy the .CRT files to the NuGenesis 8.0 installation folder:
- On ELN or LMS servers:
- Use the attached ImportCert .BAT file to import the certificate into the certificate database used by ELN/LMS.
- Restart the NuGenesis ELN Server or NuGenesis LMS Server service.
- Use the attached ListCert .BAT script to obtain a list of certificates currently installed in the ELN or LMS server.
- Certificate expiration:
- In SDMS, delete the expired certificate files from the Common Files folder, add the non-expired certificates, and restart the server.
- In ELN or LMS, use the RemoveCert .BAT script to remove expired certificates from the server.
