How to define a custom Sample Management Field using the NuGenesis LMS Client - WKB78702

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Define a custom Sample Management Field that can be displayed as a Column in the Samples, Requests, Tests, or Results windows in the LMS Client interface.

ENVIRONMENT

• NuGenesis 9 LMS
• NuGenesis 8 LMS

PROCEDURE

1. Open the LMS client using an Administrative account, and then navigate to Administration > General > System Configuration > System > Sample Management > Fields interface.
2. To use custom Result field names, click the appropriate field type tab, and then set the following options:
   • Name: The custom field name, only for generic fields. Leave this column blank to use the default field name.
   • Available: Select this option to enable users to show or hide this column in appropriate tables.
   • Visible: Select this option to display this column by default in appropriate tables.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The values for any custom field must be entered using an LMS Form. If the desired Custom Field will contain a Date value, a Generic Field should be used rather than a GenericNum field.
