Can I extend a NuGenesis Managed Store location with a new storage drive or device? - WKB61950

Article number: 61950

ENVIRONMENT

  • NuGenesis 8 SDMS
  • NuGenesis 9 SDMS

ANSWER

In many cases, if the Managed Storage location is backed by SAN storage, the drive can be increased in size. If the drive cannot be resized—for example, if the drive is a physical non-RAID disk, or if there are volume size constraints imposed by backup software—then you cannot simply add a device or drive to the existing Managed Storage location. In this case, you need to do the following:

  1. Add a new FTP site to the NuGenesis server.
  2. Link the new FTP site to the new storage drive.
  3. Create a new Managed Storage location in SDMS Administrator; the new location would point to the new FTP site.
  4. Create new projects in SDMS and link those projects to the new Managed Storage location.
