Error "Conversion Failed (FAPCAPTUREWITHOUTCONV)" appears in the NuGenesis Archive Agent log file - WKB59023

SYMPTOMS

• No Empower data is archived into NuGenesis
• The following messages appear in the Archive Agent's log file, Drive:\Program Files (x86)\NuGenesis 8.0\AA\NGSDMS80AAActivity.log:
  • "E", "DATE TIME", "0", "0", "Conversion Failed (FAPCAPTUREWITHOUTCONV)","Wate rs.SDMS.WindowsService", "clsEmp2PreProc", "NGGenerateDXFile", "1", ""

ENVIRONMENT

• NuGenesis 8 SDMS
• NuGenesis 8 Data Adapters
• Empower 3
• The archive agent is configured to run at least one archive template that archives Empower projects with JCAMP conversion

CAUSE

Either the Remote Data Converter adapter is not installed on the Empower Remote DCOM server or one of the dependencies of the converters is not installed.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Install the Remote Data Converter adapter on the Empower Remote DCOM server.
2. Run the Auto IQ program for the Converters. It is on the start menu or start screen, under NuGenesis 8.0: "IQ - NuGenesis LMS Converters Data Adapters V8.0"
3. Check the Summary data at the end of the file for failed files or registry keys.
4. Check for the following files:
   1. C:\Windows\syswow64\mfc71.dll
   2. C:\Windows\syswow64\msvcr71.dll
   3. C:\Windows\syswow64\msvcp71.dll
5. If any of the files are missing, install the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime 2005 Redistributable on the machine, or copy these files from another machine.
