Error "The system cannot find the path specified" appears during NuGenesis Preview - WKB28520

SYMPTOMS

• When trying to preview a file archived to the system, the following error appears from the application (for example, Notepad, Word, Excel) to open the file:
  •  "The system cannot find the path specified."

ENVIRONMENT

• NuGenesis SDMS 8

CAUSE

The \NugnTemp path is missing from the "Temp" folder (Drive:\Program Files (x86)\NuGenesis 8.0\Temp).

Or, the data value in the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\NuGenesis Technologies Corp.\NuGenesis\8.0\Preview\TempFolder is empty or does not exist.

FIX or WORKAROUND

If it doesn’t exist, add a NugnTemp folder under the Temp folder.

Or, add an existing data value for the registry key.

When you click a record to view the file in Preview, it downloads a copy of the file to a temp folder (usually Drive:\Program Files (x86)\NuGenesis 8.0\Temp\NugnTemp) and then opens the file with a registered viewer such as Notepad or Word.
