Error "No Action Available" when editing an MS Office document section in NuGenesis LMS and Acrobat is installed - WKB274017

SYMPTOMS

• The following error messages appear when opening an Excel, Word, or PowerPoint document section for viewing or editing in NuGenesis LMS:
  • "No Action Available"
  • "The selected version cannot be opened. Probably it is an un-editable picture or the default editor is not available"
• The Microsoft Office 365 suite is installed on the LMS client machine
• Adobe Acrobat is installed on the LMS client machine
• No Office sections can be opened

ENVIRONMENT

• NuGenesis 9 LMS
• NuGenesis 8 LMS

CAUSE

The Adobe Acrobat COM Add-in is enabled and interfering with the LMS SmartBuilder Com Add-in.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Disable the Acrobat COM Add-in in Excel on all LMS clients:

• • File > Options > Trust Center > Add-ins > COM Add-ins from Manage drop-down list > click Go: Clear the selection of Acrobat COM Add-in.
